Anaphylaxis Kitts Launched Across DHL’s UK Warehouses
DHL Supply Chain has officially rolled out Anaphylaxis Kitts across its UK warehouse network, marking a significant step forward in workplace safety and allergy preparedness.
The partnership with Kitt Medical follows a journey that began with an initial enquiry on the night of the company’s appearance on Dragons' Den. What followed was a year-long collaboration focused on ensuring life-saving adrenaline is accessible in high-risk, fast-paced working environments.
This milestone was recently celebrated with a visit to DHL’s East Midlands Gateway site, where the scale and commitment to safety were immediately evident. Upon arrival, the team was greeted with a clear message displayed at the site entrance: “Delivering excellence begins with SAFETY” — a principle that has clearly guided the rollout.
The initiative was driven internally by DHL leaders including Ben Lockley and Katie Taylor, who worked extensively to bring emergency preparedness for severe allergic reactions into their operational environments.
Alongside the installation of Anaphylaxis Kitts, DHL has implemented robust supporting policies, integrating staff training, incident reporting systems, and digital tools to ensure a comprehensive approach to allergy safety.
Ben Lockley – Senior QRA Manager
“This initiative started as my idea to bring Anaphylaxis Kits into our UK warehouses, and I’m incredibly proud that DHL Supply Chain is now implementing them across our sites. Not only will these kits help protect our staff from life-threatening allergic reactions and increase allergen awareness across our business, but they also position us as a truly caring employer. When it comes to safety, every second counts — and every colleague matters.”
Katie Taylor – Director of Quality & Regulatory Assurance
“I’m proud to have played a key role in the planning and rollout of anaphylaxis kits across our warehouses in partnership with Kitt Medical. This initiative is a powerful example of how we put safety, quality, and care at the heart of everything we do. This is more than compliance — it’s about doing what’s right, building trust, protecting lives, and reinforcing our reputation as a responsible partner.”
Following a presentation on Kitt Medical’s mission and impact, Chief Operating Officer Simon Potter remarked on the rarity of implementing a solution with such direct, life-saving potential.
Simon Potter – Chief Operating Officer
“We should feel very proud that we have taken this step to rollout Kitt Medical into our sites. It demonstrates how seriously we take the life-threatening risk of allergic reactions. I hope the kits are never required, however if they are and it makes a difference to one person then it will be worth it.”
Alongside senior leadership members, there are also many members of staff across DHL with severe allergies who added their comments of support to this roll out.
Warehouse Colleague – London
“I’ve had a bad reaction to insect stings before, and in a busy warehouse environment where I often work outside, it always felt risky. I’m so grateful that DHL is implementing these life-saving kits — it’s a game-changer.”
Warehouse Colleague – Coventry
“As someone with a severe nut allergy, I worry about accidental exposure all the time. But now, knowing DHL is rolling out these Anaphylaxis Kits means work has become a real safe space for me. It lets me focus on my job with so much more peace of mind.”
This rollout represents more than the introduction of new equipment. It reflects a broader cultural commitment to proactive safety, employee wellbeing, and operational excellence.
By embedding Anaphylaxis Kitts across its UK network, DHL Supply Chain is setting a new benchmark for how organisations can prepare for and respond to severe allergic reactions in the workplace.
For Kitt Medical, the partnership stands as a proud example of what can be achieved when organisations prioritise preparedness and act decisively to protect their people.
