Pitching, presenting, and public speaking

Public speaking. It’s either your worst nightmare, or an absolute breeze.

For me, it’s been both:

It started last April, where at my sisters wedding I gave my first ever speech to a room of hundreds of people. Standing there alone on stage I was equal parts terrified and invigorated, but still managing to make everyone (including myself) laugh.

Then came May, where alongside James we pitched Kitt Medical at City Hall. Winning over the expert judging panel, we managed to come home with the Mayor's Entrepreneur Health award - our first major public achievement and a sign of things to come! 🏆

This was quickly followed by our winning pitch in November for the Santander X Award, showcasing our Anaphylaxis Kitts at the largest (and most intimidating) venue we'd ever spoken at.

➡️ And now?

We’ve been touring the UK hosting talks for schools and academies across the country!

Informing school leadership teams of the dangers that allergy and anaphylaxis can pose to their communities if left unchecked is incredibly fulfilling - knowing that people are leaving with genuinely valuable information that has the potential to both save and change peoples lives.

I mean - did you know that that there’s 1-2 children with an allergy in every school classroom? And beyond this, 20% of severe allergic reactions at school occur in children with no prior history of allergy! 😦

If you are interested in learning more about our ‘Understanding Allergies’ talks or our Anaphylaxis Kitt service, please do get in touch.

Together, we can help create a new standard for allergy care.
